Goals were met today in our comparison to the Von Trapps and we haven’t even hit the mountains yet! Wait until I break out my curtain dresses on Saturday. Today we took the ferry to Lenno to visit the Villa di Balbiniello (scene of Star Wars wedding). The gardens are stunning and a huge walk from the ferry. We made it to the water taxi before making the very smart decision to get on the boat. Especially considering the little three ended up being free. The captain started by questioning me when I said 7, because “that is very expensive”. Yes sir, 5 kids is quite expensive. As we left the boat in the gardens someone in line watched us disembark and said “whoa the Von Trapps”, Will was a minute to late in replying “what’s so fearsome about that?” The gardens were incredibly beautiful and a bit disappointing to George who was expecting, more Star Wars.
We ended our time on Lake Como down by the water with an older Italian couple watching our brood with delight as they played in the water. Tomorrow morning we will take the way early bus to Como as we have realized the buses are nothing except unreliable. Next stop is Switzerland! Weather there is not looking to be in our favor, so we will see what the weekend holds for us.
